White mistletoe (Viscum album) is a half-parastic plant from (Loranthaceae) plant family. Inhabitats tree treetop high above ground. Mistletoe as a half-parasitic plant which takes water from tree bark but, mistletoe still contains chlorophyll and can produce its-self food.

It has green stems 20–70 centimetres long with dichotomous branching. The leaves are in opposite pairs, strap-shaped, entire, leathery textured,broad and are a yellowish-green in colour. This species is dioecious and the insect-pollinated flowers are inconspicuous, yellowish-green.  The fruit is a white or yellow berry containing one seed embedded in the very sticky, glutinous fruit pulp.

In 1921, the Austrian anthroposophical spiritual leader Rudolf Steiner suggested that mistletoe might be used to treat cancer, based on the observation that mistletoe, like cancer, is parasitic and lethal to its host. Swiss and German clinics were founded to implement this idea and still actively use a mistletoe preparation fermented with a strain of Lactobacillus for 3 days. Mistletoe extracts contain several toxic proteins, several of which are lectins, or proteins capable of binding to specific sugars.
